Nancy O'Dell's broadcast career began as a reporter and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Then, she joined WCBD as anchor for the morning show and as a crime reporter. The journalist's report on the lack of response of the police to DUI instances in Charleston led to an investigation by State Law Enforcement Division, which led to a change in policy from state officials regarding DUI cases. According to the Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell an award for the Best Report of the year award for the entire South Carolina media. In the years following her stay in Charleston, O'Dell worked as an anchor co-host for the NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV and as an investigative reporter. After that, she joined Access Hollywood to work as a weekday and weekend correspondent. Additionally, she is co-anchor for Dateline NBC and NBC News Today.
